As a 19 year old (as of writing this) I always felt like I started sort of behind, behind in class, behind in art, behind in music. I’ve been making art for who knows how long now and it only now just feels like i’ve started taking it seriously. The same can be said with music, I never really had the equipment or experience needed to create the music I wanted at a young age, I always kinda told myself “Well i’ll wait till I move out to get all the things I need THEN start.” but I grew tired of that, after 19 years it sorta falls apart and gets tiring. I’ve loved music forever, I still remember the very first song I ever listened to and how it touched my soul and how I wanted to give that feeling back tenfold, hundredfold, one millionfold.

That song was 911 by Wycelf Jean.

I only really just started making music and making art again, I always felt like I was “behind” and I truly don’t want to feel like that anymore. As I grow and go along I realize that it’s kind of a foolish ideology to have, I can’t change my past, I can only grow from it.

It doesn’t matter where you start, it matters where you’re going.

You are not “too old” to be doing the things you like. You’re at the perfect time and place to begin and start. I hope and wish you well, and I can’t wait to see what you become!
